He is a member of the musical group Black Motion, which he formed with his friend Smol.

early life
Murdah Bongz was born in 1987 to Mr. and Mrs. Mohosana.
His mother took him to a public hospital in Johannesburg. Just days after he was born, his parents named him Bongani.
Murdah Bongz was an artistic child who began writing songs as a teenager. He later sang these songs in school musicals and local performances in the community.

To further develop his talent, Muda Bonds joined the church choir, where he learned to play many instruments. Studying in the choir made him a better singer and music composer.
As luck would have it, Murda soon met an equally talented singer, Thabo Mabogwane, also known by his stage name Small. The two became friends and in 2009 decided to form a music group.
In 2011, the duo released the album Talking To The Drums, which became an instant success. The success of the album brought them international recognition. Three years later, they released another album Fortune Teller, which became a global sensation. This album won them the Best Dance Award at the 2016 South African Music Awards.
In 2020, Murdah Bongz and his partner sang lead vocals on Simmy Music’s single “Stay With Me”. In November 2020, they released another single “The Healers”.
In December 2020, they were nominated for the 2021 MAMA Awards for their single “Alone Together”.
Murdah Bongz is also an entrepreneur. He and his partners have launched an alcoholic beverage, Black Stream, in collaboration with Posboom Distillers.
