Idris Nasir, Nigerian politician, trade union activist and education advocate, born Mohammed Nasiru Idris, on 6 August 1965.
He is currently the governor of Kebbi State. He was previously the national president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers and vice president of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Idris as the winner of the 2023 Kebbi State governorship election on April 17.

Early life
In Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi state, Nasir Idris was born on 6 August 1965.
He attended The Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi from 1994 to 2003, and from 2006 to 2009, he studied for an MBA at Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto. Idris holds a PhD in education and has written numerous academic papers.
Career
In 2018, Nasir Idris was appointed president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and vice president of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
He has served as Chairman NUT in Kebbi State, National Treasurer of NUT and Chairman NLC in Kebbi State.
In May 2022, Nasir Idris was nominated to run for governor of Kebbi state in the APC party primaries.
On 17 April 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Idris the winner of the Kebbi State gubernatorial election.
