He attended Birnin Kebbi Polytechnic from 1994 to 2003, and from 2006 to 2009, he studied MBA at Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto. Idris has a Ph.D. in education and has written many academic articles.
Career
In 2018, Nasir Idris was appointed president of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and vice president of the Nigerian Labor Congress.
He has held the positions of Chairman of NUT Kebbi State, National Treasurer of NUT and Chairman of NLC in Kebbi State.

In May 2022, Nasir Idris was nominated to run for governor of Kebbi state in the APC governorship primary election.
