Early life
Ned Nwoko is a prince born into the Nwoko royal family in Idumeje Ugboko village, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria.
He was born on December 21, 1960 with the full name of Prince Chinedu Ned Munir Nwoko.
He grew up in his village as one of the princes of Idumeje Ugboko, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria.
Then moved to England to study.
Education
Ned Nwoko began his studies in Nigeria, then moved to the UK to pursue a BA in Law and History at the prestigious Keele University, located in Staffordshire, UK.
After graduating and obtaining his first degree, Ned Nwoko moved to Kings College, London where he obtained an LLM in Maritime and Commercial Law.
He was then called to practice as an English barrister at Lincoln’s Inn.
He was recognized and awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the Commonwealth University of Belize, UK.
He also received another honorary degree, this time in science, from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State.
Career
After obtaining all the necessary qualifications, Ned established and maintained one of the best law firms in the UK.
According to Ned Nwoko, he practiced as a solicitor in the High Court of England and Wales. However, there is no official record of him following the investigation. Ned is not listed in the database as a registered solicitor in the UK.
However, it can be officially confirmed that he is the general secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association in the UK and a visiting consultant to the Citizens Advice Bureau based in London, UK.
Ned Nwoko returned to his birth country of Nigeria in December 1998 with a mission to establish a viable democracy in Nigeria after the military withdrew from power following decades of military dictatorship.
Ned Nwoko’s political career saw him elected as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003 under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He represented Aniocha North-South of Delta State and Oshimili North-South of Delta State, South-South Nigeria.
Ned Nwoko is also an influential business tycoon with interests in oil companies, real estate, arts and tourism in Nigeria.
Ned Nwoko is also a philanthropist with a foundation that contributes to youth empowerment and education in Delta State. He even donated $273,000 (100 million naira) in 2019 to restore a damaged road construction project connecting southeastern Nigeria to Abuja, the country’s capital, and in the same year, he pledged $200,000 (71.6 million naira) to UNESCO to support and develop sports in West Africa.
