early life
Oba Dice was born on May 26, 1986 to Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim.
He is a Yoruba boy from the southwestern states of the United States.
Born and raised in Lagos Island, he started rapping to entertain his friends during recess and after school hours as a child. Most of the time, he improvised in his native Yoruba language, which made his songs more exciting. His classmates nicknamed him “Oba Dice”.

Whenever he felt inspired to create music, Oba Dice would take a pen and notebook and write down rap lyrics. With the encouragement of his family and close friends, he decided to pursue a professional music career after graduating from high school.

A great example is Mr Real’s song Legbegbe, which catapulted Oba Dice to fame. DMW artist Idowest also co-wrote the single. The song made waves in the local and international music scene for months. The song also opened the door for more collaborations for Oba Dice, getting him invited to several shows and events.
Over the years, he has worked with artists such as Mr Real, Idowest, Qdot, Mayor White, Lord Of Ajasa, Vibez, Slim B, Real Kamelion, Kyire, Alli-B and Sugarboy.
He collaborated with Slim B to record the hit single “Wait For Me”, which became one of the popular street pop songs in 2020.
In 2021, he featured Idowest on his single “Original Litty”.
