Early life and education

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a versatile Nigerian public figure, was born on 24 June 1980 in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. From 1987 to 1990, he attended Ansarudeen Primary School in Oyin Akoko.

Then he moved to Hakda International School in Kaduna, where he studied from 1990 to 1992.

In 2019, Tunji-Ojo won a seat in the Nigerian House of Representatives as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He proudly represented the Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency in Ondo State.

During his first term, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo served as chairman of the House Committee responsible for overseeing the development initiatives of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

After his re-election in 2023, Tunji-Ojo secured his seat in the House of Representatives. However, President Bola Tinubu later selected him as the Minister of Internal Affairs. On August 21, 2023, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo was officially sworn in as the new Minister.

All 204,332 pending passport applications have been cleared by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) following a directive from the Minister of Interior, His Excellency Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The NIS confirmed this on October 3, 2023.
