In an Instagram post, the group – whose original members include Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – shared their thoughts on his departure, noting that they were “completely completely devastated”.

“We are absolutely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. Over time and when people are able, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of his brother, whom we loved deeply,” the post began.
“The memories we shared with him will be cherished forever,” they continued.
“For now, our thoughts are with his family, friends and the fans who loved him along with us. We will miss him dearly. We love you Liam,” it concludes.

News of One Direction’s post comes after it was reported that Zayn Malik was “shocked” by his departure.
Zayn was informed early this morning and all information is completely accurate,” a producer close to Malik told The Sun. Daily mail.
“He was shocked and his parents contacted Liam’s family to express their support and condolences. People close to Zayn don’t want him to be alone right now so he’s surrounded by friends,” the source added.
Malik isn’t the only member of the team affected by Payne’s departure. Louis Tomlinson also posted heartfelt tributes to Payne.
“I am extremely saddened as I write this but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was someone I looked up to every day, a positive, funny and kind soul,” wrote on Instagram.
He went on to call Payne an “incredible songwriter” and “an important part of One Direction.”
“I feel incredibly lucky to have you in my life but I’m really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye. I’m so grateful that we’ve grown even closer since we were a band,” said chatting on the phone for hours reminiscing about the past thousand years.” of the wonderful memories we have had together is a luxury I thought I would have with you for life. The singer went on to share that he would tell Payne’s 7-year-old son, Bear, “stories about how great his dad was.”

The latest wave of support comes after many celebrities such as Rita Ora and Zedd paid tribute to Payne in social media posts.
Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from a three-story balcony at a hotel in Argentina.
