After completing her education, Pam Bondi began her career as a prosecutor and spokeswoman in Hillsborough County, Florida. She served as chief of the criminal division and a member of the vehicular homicide and domestic homicide committees during her tenure.
She also prosecuted death row defendant Martin Anderson. She gained attention in 2010 when she was elected Florida’s 37th Attorney General, defeating Democrat Dan Gelber. In 2014, she defeated Democrat George Sheldon and Libertarian Bill Wohlsifer for re-election.
Pam Bondi was also a plaintiff in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly known as “Obamacare”) lawsuit. In addition, she was appointed to the Florida Constitutional Revision Commission, which was created to review the Florida Constitution and make recommendations for amendments.
Pam Bondi filed a lawsuit challenging the ACA’s ban on health insurance companies, along with 19 other Republican-controlled states.
In 2018, she co-hosted Fox News’ The Five and appeared as a guest on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Show. She joined Donald Trump’s defense team during his 2020 Senate impeachment trial.
