Paris Hilton’s fiancé, Chris Zylka, was involved in a violent encounter with police.
TMZ reported he was subdued by police while in Ohio. The incident is said to have been captured on body cam footage.
Before the altercation, police responded to an incident where a man with a gun was allegedly trying to enter a car whose driver was already inside. The man in question was wearing pajama pants but no shirt or shoes in 32-degree weather. He was later identified as Zylka, Hilton’s fiancé. According to reports, he was found by law enforcement in traffic in the middle of the intersection. Zylka allegedly tried to enter a woman’s car and tried to break a window, the newspaper reported.
Two members of the police force arrived in an unmarked car and they were greeted by Zylka threatening them with a shotgun and pointing a mobile phone at them. Police reported that he was under the influence of drugs and foaming at the mouth when they arrived.
When law enforcement members attempted to handcuff him, Zylka had one handcuffed before he allegedly started the fight. He and one of the other policemen exchanged blows. The other detective deployed the Taser, however, it hit the other detective instead. That detective then deployed his Taser twice on Zylka in an attempt to subdue him. However, according to TMZ, it has very little effect.
When another detective arrived, they were able to arrest Zylka after the incident. Body cam footage obtained by WKBN-TV shows Hilton’s ex-fiancé lying on the ground with a bloody nose. He continued to struggle as police and medical staff strapped him to a stretcher.
Zylka was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer. He has since been issued an arrest warrant and is free.
