Enoch Adejare Adeboye (born 2 March 1942) is a globally recognized Nigerian pastor and professor of mathematics.
He is also the Archbishop of the Revival Church of God based in Lagos, Nigeria. He has become a world-renowned figure in preaching the word of God.
In addition to his pastoral career, he is also a businessman.

Early life
Enoch Adeboye was born on 2nd March 1942 in an area called ‘Ifewara’, located in Osun State, Nigeria.
The famous pastor came from a poor family. Adeboye once described how poverty affected their family.
He said, ‘We were so poor that even other poor families called our family poor..’ He is related to Esther Adetoun.
Education
Pastor Enoch Adeboye began his educational journey in 1956 where he attended Ilesha Grammar School, located in Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria. After completing his primary and secondary education, he proceeded to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria.
Due to the ongoing civil war, he chose to study at Obafemi Awolowo University and graduated with a BA in Mathematics in 1967. In 1967, he married the woman he loved named Foluke Adenike.
The couple had four children, namely: (Deceased) Dare Adeboye, Adeolu Adeboye, Bolu Adubi Adeboye and Leke Adeboye. In 1969, Pastor Enoch Adeboye obtained a master’s degree in hydrodynamics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
In 1975, he obtained his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. His academic success led him to become Professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos.
Career
Set
In 1973, Enoch Adeboye became a member of Redeemed Christian Church of God where he served as an Interpreter, before being ordained as a pastor at RCCG in 1975 by the senior pastor, Pa. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi.
In 1981, Enoch Adeboye became the Archbishop of the church. For the first 3 years, he served in this role part-time in Ilorin due to his job as a professor at UNILAG. He later resigned to preach full-time.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye is widely known as a prosperity preacher, which confirms the claim that he is indeed a prosperity preacher. According to Pastor Enoch Adeboye;
‘Pentecostals are so influential because they talk about the present and not just the future, while we have to worry about heaven, there are some things God can do for us here (on earth) and right now.‘
The church rose to prominence under Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who stated that his goal was to ensure that there was a church within 5 minutes drive of every developed city and 5 minutes walk of every developing city.

Personal life
Pastor Enoch Adeboye married Mrs. Foluke Adeboye (his wife) on December 17, 1967.
He has 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter) and grandchildren. One of his sons known as ‘Dare Adeboye’ passed away on 4th May 2021. The late son Dare passed away at the age of 42.
