Meet Paul Roberts, Linsey Davis’ Husband

Emmy Award-winning journalist Linsey Davis has been married to her husband Paul Roberts for decades.

Linsey Davis, an ABC reporter, was speaking at a charity event held at the famous Plaza Hotel. Although she was dating someone else at the time, Davis’ cousin tried to introduce her to Paul Roberts. Roberts was brought to the event by her cousin, who arranged for him to sit at Davis’ table, where they began chatting.

They both tried to hail a taxi at the end of the night. They continued their conversation while waiting for the taxi to arrive and eventually decided to go together. Everything after that evening is history.

The couple got married and held their wedding ceremony at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York, on March 26, 2013. On TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, Davis appeared in the wedding dress she had chosen. The wedding preparations were also reported on GMA. In 2022, Paul and Linsey celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary.

After the couple welcomed a son named Ayden into the world on May 30, 2014, Roberts’ family expanded. Her son recently inspired her to write a book, How high is heaven? As she said EVERYBODYAyden is sad that he won’t be able to see his grandmother in heaven again.

“We were on the plane and he suddenly said, ‘I don’t see her,’ ” the ABC News anchor, 44, recalled of a conversation with Ayden, now 7, whom she shares with husband Paul Roberts. “And I said, ‘You don’t see anybody?’ And he said, ‘Oh, I looked out the window for Mrs. P. in heaven.’ ”

A few months before the trip, Linsey and Ayden had a conversation about Mrs. P. during which Mrs. P asked Linsey why he only had one set of grandparents while his friend had two. (Ayden’s paternal grandfather had also passed away.)

The host has been on a mission to make sure her parenting is right, as she stated in one of her Instagram posts, and that she is willing to have any difficult conversations with her child to help shape him into a responsible adult. She did express her concerns in the post about exposing her young son to the topic of racial injustice.

The mother of one has also released a children’s book, “The World Is Awakening: A Celebration of Daily Blessings,” in 2018 that her son inspired. Loving parents make time for their son’s school events despite their busy schedules, and they enjoy spending time with their children.

After the flight, Linsey was inspired to write her latest children’s book, How High is Heaven?, to help other parents navigate similar conversations with their children about deceased loved ones. As more children lose their primary caregivers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she felt the topic was more urgent than ever.

In addition to being great parents to their son, Paul and Linsey also share a love of marathons. He and Linsey have enjoyed running marathons for charity for years now. Seriously, Linsey’s Instagram page regularly features photo opportunities from marathons.
