Peter Tierney Murrell was born in Edinburgh, England in December 1964. He was raised by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murrell, and his siblings, whose names are currently unknown.

Peter Tierney Murrell has extensive experience in political engagement and public relations. Prior to his political career, Murrell worked as a public relations officer for the Church of Scotland for four years.
