Pierre Poilievre began his political career in 2004 when he was elected Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Ottawa region of Nepean—Calleton.

Throughout his career, Poilievre held various positions within the Conservative Party. He served as Minister of Democratic Reforms from 2013 to 2015 and then as Minister of Employment and Social Development.
