Pom Alexandra Klementieff (born 3 May 1986), better known as Pom Klementieff, is a talented French model, television personality and actress.
She started acting at a very young age, appearing in commercials and short films. She made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Pom Klementieff is also scheduled to reprise his role as Mantis in Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, both set to be released in 2023.

Early life and education
Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on May 3, 1986. Her mother is Korean and her father is a Russian-French man named Alexis Klementieff who served as a consul for the French government.
She is a French citizen and does not have Canadian citizenship, as jus soli does not apply to children of diplomats. Her ancestry can only be traced back to France. Her grandfather was the Russian painter Eugene Klementieff. Her parents gave her the name “Pom” because it is pronounced similarly to the Korean words for “spring” and “tiger.”
Pom Klementieff lived in Canada for a year, and then her father’s business required the family to travel frequently. They lived in Japan and the Ivory Coast before arriving in France.
When she was five, her father died of cancer and her mother developed schizophrenia and was unable to take care of the child, so Pom Klementieff was raised by her uncle and aunt.
Her brother committed suicide on her 25th birthday, and her uncle, whom she described as “like a second father to her”, died on her 18th birthday.

Pom Klementieff’s first professional role was in the French independent film Après Lui, which premiered in 2007, where she played the stepdaughter of the leading lady Catherine Deneuve. Her scenes were shot over three days. In one scene, she was supposed to force someone to fall down the stairs, but she fell down the stairs herself, and the film’s director Gael Morel kept this shot in the final cut.
She landed her first leading role in Loup, a French film that premiered in 2009 about a tribe of reindeer herders in the Siberian mountains.
During the shoot, with temperatures well below zero, Pom Klementieff stayed in a camp hours away from the next village, befriending local nomads, working with real wolves, riding reindeer, and swimming in a lake with horses.
Pom Klementieff made her Hollywood debut in Spike Lee’s 2013 South Korean adaptation of Oldboy, in which she played the villain’s bodyguard, Hahnfor, who was played by Sharlto Copley.
