R. Kelly’s daughter claims her father’s alleged abuse drove her to suicidal thoughts

R. Kelly’s daughter is not holding back and is sharing new insights into what allegedly happened to her while in her father’s care.

In the new documentary archive of the TVEI Network R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s JourneyBuku Abi revealed that her father allegedly sexually abused her as a child. This has led to many suicide attempts and psychiatric hospitalization.

“For a long time, I was in a really difficult state mentally and I ended up in a psychiatric hospital, psychiatric hospital, whatever you want to call it, because I had It was a time in my life that I tried to overcome many times.” my own life,” she said, according to Everybody.

Abi recalls the moment she encountered an obstacle while on the way to school with her mother.

“That day she called the hospital and she finally checked on me, but I didn’t leave. I was there for about two and a half weeks. I was really under close surveillance for suicide. Abi recalls an incident where her mother, Andrea, took her to Target. When she arrived at the store, she saw that her daughter’s wrist had been cut.

“I got to the point where I didn’t care anymore. I don’t care if I live or die. I don’t care what happened to me. [My mom] saw my wrists all cut, and she immediately put everything down and asked, ‘What’s going on? Are you Okay?’ She was really worried, and in that moment, I broke down and had to tell her, ‘I don’t think I’m okay. I don’t think I can do this. I don’t think I’ll make it through the rest of my life,'” she said.

Abi revealed the alleged abuse that happened to her when she was eight years old in the documentary.

“I just remember waking up and seeing him touching me. I didn’t know what to do so I just lay there and pretended to sleep,” she said. Everybody.

While Abi told her mother what happened to her, when they went to the police and filed a complaint, Kelly was not charged with any crime because she waited so long.

The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer denied these claims through his attorney, who issued a statement to Everybody.

“Mr. Kelly vehemently denies these allegations. His ex-wife made a similar allegation many years ago, and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Family & Children Services and has no basis… . And the ‘filmmakers,’ whoever they are, have not reached out to Mr. Kelly or his team to even allow him to deny these hurtful statements,” they said.

Kelly is currently serving 20 years in prison for child pornography and luring a minor for sex. He was also sentenced to 30 years in prison for fraud and sex trafficking in New York.
