R. Kelly’s daughter Joanne says her son won’t meet his imprisoned grandfather in Bombshell New Doc: ‘He knows exactly why’

Fallen R&B star R. Kelly faces public backlash from his own daughter in a new documentary.

A trailer released on Sunday for the upcoming documentary, ‘R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey’ Joanne Kelly, the disgraced star’s daughter, admits that her son won’t be seeing his grandfather in prison anytime soon.

It seems the singer’s allegations – similar to those rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently facing – have caused a rift in their once healthy father-son relationship .

“If my son asks a question, I will be as honest as possible,” Joanne, 26, says in the trailer. And I will not send my son to prison to see his grandfather.”

Her relationship with her father reportedly took a turn for the worst after Kelly – born Robert Sylvester Kelly – was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of federal sex trafficking and fraud charges, including including bribery and child sexual exploitation.

Even though he was imprisoned, he always maintained his innocence.

“For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe it happened,” Joanne said. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person, he would do something to me.”

“No one wants to be the child of a father who is hurting women and children here. He knows exactly why we can’t have the relationship we want to have with him.” , she added.

“I really feel like that one millisecond completely changed my whole life,” she said of the moment the “I’m A Flirt” star was sentenced.

The documentary “R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey” follows Kelly’s daughter “revealing a heartbreaking secret that shattered her childhood and changed her forever. With each revelation, viewers is taken on a harrowing journey of betrayal, trauma and survival as Joanne.” seeks to reclaim her voice and identity in the aftermath of her father’s sins,” according to ‘IMDb.’

The documentary will premiere on Tvei Network on October 11.
