Early life and education
Randy Orton is the son of professional wrestler Bob Orton II and nurse Elaine Orton. He was born on April 1, 1980 in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States.
He is the nephew of Barry Orton and the grandson of professional wrestler Bob Orton II. He has a sister named Becky Orton and a brother named Nathan Orton, who is a stand-up comedian. He has a younger brother named Roderick Orton.
His father warned him that life in the ring would mean a life of wandering away from his family. His parents knew that the life of a professional wrestler was difficult, so they tried to talk him out of the industry. Randy Orton was an amateur wrestler while attending Hazelwood Central High School.
Profession
Randy Orton joined the Marine Corps after receiving his diploma in 1998. In 1999, he was discharged from the base for misconduct for disobeying orders from a superior and going AWOL twice. He was charged and convicted at a special court-martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and subsequently spent 38 days in a brig at Camp Pendleton.
He once had a Marine tattoo on his left arm, but he covered it up after being kicked out for bad conduct. He made his professional wrestling debut in 2000. In 2001, Randy Orton signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He competed against big names like John Cena and Rico Constantino.
