Foolio, known for his 2019 hit “voo doo” and the controversial song “When I see you,” celebrated his birthday with friends and fans at a poolside party before the deadly shooting. According to his attorney, Lewis Fusco, the rapper was asked to leave the Airbnb where the original party was held due to exceeding the allowed number of people.

The Tampa Police Department received a 911 call about the shooting around 4:40 a.m. EDT. Police arrived at the scene and found two vehicles shot at in the hotel parking lot. Law enforcement believes the incident was a targeted attack, although the investigation is continuing.
Foolio’s sudden death left fans as well as fellow artists in shock and sadness. Many people took to social media to express their condolences and share memories of the young rapper. His girlfriend, Blanco Mani, confirmed his passing on Instagram, which is currently set to private.
