early life
Raven-Symoné Christine Pearman was born on December 10, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Christopher and Lydia Pearman.
When she was a child, her parents encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming a model and signed her with a modeling agency that specialized in serving children.
The family moved from Atlanta to Ossining, New York, Georgia in 1988. When she came to New York as a child, Ford Models in New York City worked with brands such as Jell-O and Cool Whip.
Raven-Symoné made her TV debut on Bill Cosby’s hit series The Cosby Show in 1989 and starred in it until the show ended in 1992.
Raven-Symoné began her singing career as a child, taking singing lessons from Missy Elliott. Her first album, Here’ To New Dreams, was released in 1993, and two songs in particular became famous. As a child star, her transformation was complete.
