Rea Rangaka made his debut in the show More Than A Game, where he played the role of Freddie Simon. After that, he continued to act in theatre and drama, although he could not play any significant roles. Due to his great passion for his profession and high self-esteem, he organized a South African television show in 2008 called Khululeka.
In 2011, Rea Rangaka acted and starred in the feature film Paradise Station supervised and directed by Jann Turner, alongside some well-known artistes such as Rapulana Seiphemo and Kenneth Nkosi.
Soon after, he wrote, directed and produced other films between 2012 and 2013. In 2012, he produced Short Films for Lovers Only, produced by Rea Rangaka, and in 2013, he produced Ode to Blood.
In 2014, he played Lungile, an advertising executive who slept with one of his colleagues, in an episode of the e.tv anthology series Mzansi Love.
He also starred as Schelaine Bennet in the soap opera Friends Season 3 Episode 2. In order to enhance and develop his acting career, in 2015 he landed the lead role in Mzansi Magic’s TV series The Mayor.
The role brought him fame and attention from fans and industry insiders, so much so that in 2017 he was considered the top choice to star in the second season of SABC1 sitcom The Bachelor, where he played Cheeseboy Mazi.
