Rebecca Gadon is of mixed race, with English and African descent, her father is from England and her mother is from Ghana.
She was born in the city of Accra in 1993. When she was a week old, her family moved to neighboring Nigeria and settled in the city of Lagos.
She was born into a family with a strong interest in music. Her elder sister is Lola Rae, one of the leading female artists in Afrobeat music. Her father, Mr. Garton, is a lover of fine music and spends his free time composing songs. She grew up listening to music icons such as Fela Kuti, Celine Dion, The Beatles, Miles Davis, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.
She spent the first seventeen years of her life in Nigeria before moving to the UK for her university education.

She started her music career in 2014 with a cover of Emily Sandé’s song “Break The Law”. The single received over 5,000 views within a few weeks of its release.

Her first official single, “Don’t”, was released on February 3, 2020.
Her debut EP, Take Me Home, was released in 2020. She started working on this EP in 2016. This EP is a five-song project. The songs in the EP have been played over a million times.
In February 2021, she appeared on the show Made In UK. She has also been interviewed by Notion, Amazon Music UK and Amazon Fashioneu. Her songs have been played on BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1 and are available on streaming platforms such as Spotify UK, Apple Music, Amazon Music UK and Deezer.
A hard-working musician, Rebecca Garton has worked with artists such as Fireboy DML, Jeremih, Mae Muller, Alana Mariaxo, Tia Carys and Louis Reiws.
