“Remnant 2: Forbidden Forest” music puzzle
In the game “Ruins II”, players will encounter an area called “Forbidden Forest”, in which there is a puzzle related to a giant harp. The harp requires the player to play a specific melody to activate a mechanism that opens a massive stone bridge. Crossing the bridge will take players to the next area, where they will face a boss known as the Deadly Reaver.
The puzzle involves looking up notes and clues in a book during the game to figure out the correct order and spacing of the notes that need to be played on the harp. Once the melody is played correctly, the bridge will rise, allowing the player to proceed to the next part of the game.
The text above provides a step-by-step guide on how to approach and solve this musical puzzle in Remnant II: Forbidden Forest. It includes instructions on where to find the levers that power the harp, how to get the notes from the book, and the order in which to play the notes.

How to complete the music puzzle guide in Remnant 2?
When you first encounter the giant harp in the Forbidden Forest, trying to solve its puzzles is futile because the machine needs to be activated early. However, you can’t activate it until you’ve progressed further in the biome.
To power the harp, follow these steps: Start by climbing the stairs next to the worldstone room until you reach the door that leads to the next part of the biome. Enter the area and keep fighting, maybe even exploring another area, until you eventually find yourself in a new part of the Forbidden Forest.
In this fresh area near the worldstone room, you’ll encounter a lever that powers the harp. Once activated, it opens a shortcut back to the Worldstone, allowing you to rest if needed. While you’re in this room, check out the book that contains the notes needed to play the harp melody, along with tips on the correct spacing of each note. Although we’ll provide the exact input sequence below, if you want to figure it out yourself, the information in the book can help you.
Here is the correct order of playing the notes:
5
0
4
0
3
4
1

When you return to the harp, play the melody correctly using the notes in the book. Raising the pin counts as a note, while lowering the pin represents a space. See photos for guidance, but be aware that the angle of the unit may make it difficult to get perfect spacing. To that end, we have also included the written orders listed above.
After playing the correct melody, pull the lever to the left side of the mechanism and the harp will activate the melody. After a while, a massive stone bridge will rise, allowing you to cross it and enter the next area, where you’ll face the deadly Predator boss.
This puzzle is indeed a brainteaser, but be prepared; Remnant II has even more challenging puzzles in store. For more tips on solving Lament Dial Puzzles and other Remnant II guides, be sure to check out our comprehensive series.
Remnant 2 gameplay
Remnant 2, much like its predecessor, draws inspiration from the Soulsborne video game to deliver an engaging third-person shooter experience. Players can choose to use up to two guns and melee weapons, providing a versatile way to fight. After starting the game, players can choose from different character archetypes.
For example, the Gunslinger class replaced the former Cult class from the first game and specialized in the use of firearms. The Challenger class can unleash a powerful shockwave that disintegrates enemies, while the Handler class comes with a loyal canine companion to help in the fight.
As players progress through the game, they unlock the ability to dual-class, combining the skills and traits of different archetypes. Each archetype offers specific perks and abilities that players can activate. For Gunners, their unique ability is “Reload,” which instantly reloads all guns the character is carrying. The trainer’s primary skill, on the other hand, is “Restraint,” which allows their canine companion to revive the character if they fall in combat.
Remnant 2 takes the procedural generation concepts of the first game and takes them to a whole new level. Not only does it change the layout of the level and enemy spawn points, but it also incorporates randomly generated enemy types, area aesthetics, boss characters, non-playable characters, and even the game’s storyline and missions. This adds an important element of unpredictability and replayability to the gaming experience.
Players can choose to adventure alone to complete the entire game and face challenges alone. Additionally, the game offers a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows up to three players to join forces to battle against the game’s diverse and challenging content. With its enhanced procedural generation, diverse character archetypes, and engaging gameplay, Remnant 2 strives to provide Souls fans and action RPG enthusiasts with an immersive, thrilling adventure experience.
