Republican Taylor Swift fans cancel concert tickets after Kamala Harris endorsement

Taylor Swift is facing a barrage of criticism from Republican fans expressing disappointment with her political views after the singer decided to publicly endorse Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The 34-year-old posted a strong endorsement of the Democratic presidential ticket on her social media page on Tuesday, following the presidential debate hosted by ABC News.

The endorsement quickly drew a flood of praise, with hundreds of thousands of people flocking to vote.gov to register. Many of the singer’s Republican fans, however, expressed frustration with Swift’s politics, pointing to the singer’s immense wealth and using her celebrity status to portray her as heartless.

In a viral video posted on TikTok, a concerned mother expressed her displeasure with Swift’s support for Harris, saying it led her to sell the tickets she bought to attend a Taylor Swift concert with her daughter in November.

“If Harris gets elected, our economy will be ruined. But I know it doesn’t affect you because you have all that money, private planes, you don’t even live in that world,” the user said in a criticism of the singer. “Donald Trump is the right man for the job. If the US economy suffers, the whole world suffers, Taylor.”

“The Bible says we are not to judge the world, but we are to judge other believers. How can you call yourself a believer and kill babies?” she continued. “I don’t want to spend another dollar supporting you and your private jet and your un-Christian beliefs.”

Additionally, the X (formerly Twitter) community called “Swifties for Trump” has also seen a lot of activity following Swift’s endorsement.

We don’t need a role model to fix our country. We need someone who can fix our economy so we can buy groceries again.

“Honestly, I was furious that Taylor supported the dangerous far-left Kamala. When foreigners tried to attack her Euro concert, I thought it might have been a wake-up call for Taylor about the seriousness of this issue,” one user wrote to the community. “Now she’s back to being dismissive of these issues. Not a good look.”

Not gonna lie, I was furious when Taylor supported the dangerous far left Kamala. When foreigners tried to attack her Euro concert, I thought it might have been a wake up call for Taylor about how serious this issue is. Now she’s downplaying these issues. Not a good look.
