He was born and raised in Lynnwood, where he lived with his family. His parents were teachers and farmers, and his family moved to Pius when he was in high school.
He started playing basketball at Pius X High School where he did great. He did great in high school and became a very famous name there. He then transferred to Loyola Marymount College where he played college basketball and became a very famous name throughout Marymount. He soon moved on to professional basketball where he played for many years before announcing his retirement. He then moved on to become a basketball coach.
