Ricky Ponting was born in Launceston, Australia, on 19 December 1974. He was raised by his parents, Graeme Ponting and Lorraine Ponting, along with his brother Drew Ponting and sister Renee Ponting.

Career

Ricky Ponting is the eldest of three children born to Graeme and Lorraine Ponting. Graeme was a keen club cricketer and Australian Rules player, while Lorraine was a strong state champion. Ponting’s uncle, Greg Campbell, also played Test cricket for Australia in 1989 and 1990.
