Akshata Murty, now 43 years old, was born in Hubli, India. Her father, NR Narayana Murthy, co-founded Infosys, an Indian multinational IT company, while her mother, Sudha Murty, is a prominent philanthropist.
Her maternal grandparents raised Murty in Jayanagar, a suburb of Bangalore, while her parents worked to found Infosys.

In August 2009, at the age of 29, Murty married Rishi Sunak, whom she met while studying at Stanford University in 2004. The couple has two daughters named Krishna Sunak and Anoushka Sunak.
They own many properties, including Kirby Sigston Manor in North Yorkshire, a cottage in Earl’s Court, London, a flat in South Kensington, London, and a penthouse in Santa Monica, California.
Career
After working as a marketing director for Dutch cleantech company Tendris, Murty founded her fashion label in 2007.
However, this firm closed in 2012. Then, she became director of venture capital fund Catamaran Ventures in 2013.
Murty also co-founded the London branch of her father, NR Narayana Murthy’s Indian company. She holds shares in Infosys and shares in many other British businesses.
Additionally, she holds director roles at Digme Fitness and Soroco, a digital transformation company co-founded by her brother, Rohan Murty.
