Robbie Williams is showing that he’s more than just the man behind the mic.
The superstar singer was captured in a video posted to social media celebrating his wedding at the screening of his biographical film, Better man.
“I love NYC, you mean Robbie Williams got married at this Q&A?” the video has been annotated.
In the video, Williams brings a couple to the front of the room, where he begins the wedding ceremony.
“So by sheer power no one invested in me. It’s not legally binding, but legally binding in your heart and in your hearts,” he said, pointing to each member in couple.
“Did you say I did that to your aunts?” he asked the man.
While the man agreed, Williams then turned his attention to the woman in the clip and asked her a similar question before she agreed.
The video ends: “By the power invested in me, I now declare you two husband and wife, a round of applause for everyone.”
The stunt at the screening was by Williams Better man failed to meet the exception at the US box office. According to DiversityThe film only brought in $1 million from 1,291 theaters. The film also underperformed in the UK, grossing a total of $4.7 million. To date, the film has only brought in 10 million USD compared to its huge budget of 110 million USD.
The film’s poor performance comes after a debate on social media between Brits and Americans about the Brits being stunned that Americans now know who Williams is.
Some Americans on social media called Williams a famous wonder.
Others pointed to the difference between Britons who knew Williams and Americans who didn’t know who he was.
Better man introduced Williams as a controversial CGI monkey who portrayed the singer as he lived the ups and downs of life in the spotlight.
The male singer rose to fame as a member of the group Take That before embarking on a solo career and becoming a global phenomenon in his own right.
