Robbie Williams turns into a singing monkey in bizarre biopic ‘Better Man’: Watch

Robbie Williams of Take That fame is referencing monkey business in the trailer for his upcoming biopic titled Better man.

In the trailer released by Paramount today (October 2), Williams transforms into a monkey to replace the British pop singer.

“I know what you’re thinking. What’s wrong with the monkey? I’m Robbie Williams. I’m one of the biggest pop stars in the world. But I always feel like I’m a little less evolved,” he recounted in Introductory video.

The first look at the musical seems like any other musical biopic, except in one major aspect, Williams is transformed into a monkey Planet of the Apes style. In the clip, Williams can be seen playing soccer as a young man and his monkey duo are dressed in human clothes.

A transition clip and highlight reel of Williams performing on stage in front of a crowd of screaming fans are then shown. It is then interrupted by Williams as a hissing monkey with giant teeth.

According to the film’s synopsis, “‘Better Man’ is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall and remarkable resurrection of Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Under the visionary direction of Michael Gracey (The greatest showman), the film is uniquely told from Williams’ perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit. It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood, becoming the youngest member of chart-topping boy band Take That, to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – while facing the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring.
