Caleb Farley lost his father, Robert Farley, in a house fire in August 2023. He also lost his mother, Robin Farley, at a young age.

Robert and Robin are said to have been high school sweethearts. They met at Maiden High School and married in 1987. The couple has been married for 31 years. Two years after their marriage (1989), Robert and Robin welcomed their son Joshua. The 34-year-old is a track and field athlete at Appalachian State.

“For me, it was never a big deal,” Caleb said. ESPN“In a family, something is always going to work out. I was a kid, but I think I knew she was going to get better and have a fairytale ending. And I was glad that it did because the family was always happy.”

He also discussed how this event improved his relationship with God.

“When I saw my mom go through that and believe she could be healed and then I saw it come back and kill her, my faith was damaged right from the start,” Caleb told ESPN in 2021. “But I believe you have to serve God in the good and the bad. I decided I was going to trust God. I would be lost without Him.”

Caleb had hoped his mother would live long enough to see him play a game for Virginia Tech, but she was eight months dead by the time he intercepted two passes against Florida State in his college debut in 2018.

More than three years after her death, he finds some comfort in her absence. “She’s in a better place now because the world is becoming evil. She shouldn’t be here,” Caleb said. “Every day, the world is moving further away from God.”

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, shortly after midnight, the Tennessee Titans star’s $2 million estate about 28 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina, exploded. The blast killed Caleb’s father, Robert, 61, and injured another person, according to Kent Green, director of Iredell County Fire and Emergency Management.
