Early life and education

Rochas Okorocha is a Nigerian politician with a deep passion for public service, born on 22nd September 1962 in the vibrant town of Ogboko, Ideato South, Imo State. Raised primarily by his mother, the incomparable Ezinne Josephine Okorocha, his upbringing was not without its challenges, as the identity of his father remains a mystery. Career

Rochas Okorocha’s political career has seen many ups and downs. The Nigerian politician contested the PDP primaries for the Imo State governorship in 1999 but lost to Achike Udenwa. Despite this defeat, he remained undeterred and continued to serve in various capacities, such as the Federal Character Committee and the National Constitutional Convention.

In 2003, Rochas Okorocha sought the presidential nomination of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) but was unsuccessful, forcing him to return to the PDP. He soon caught the attention of President Olusegun Obasanjo, who appointed him as his Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs.

Determined to forge his own path, Rochas Okorocha founded the Action Alliance (AA) party in 2005, with the intention of running for president under AA in the 2007 elections. However, he rejoined the PDP and announced his intention to become the party’s National Chairman in September 2007.

In 2011, Rochas Okorocha left the PDP to join the All Progressives Alliance (APGA) and contested the national elections as a candidate for Governor of Imo State.
