Were those Sabrina Carpenter’s tears of joy? Because, as one of many artists to receive her first Grammy nomination this year, Carpenter took to social media to react to her Album of the Year nomination for Short and sweet.
In a video recording of her live reaction, Carpenter immediately burst into tears as her fellow sightseers jumped, screamed and celebrated in excitement.
The female singer scored nominations in all four major categories including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.
It’s a huge win for the pop star, who released her debut single “Can’t Blame a Girl for Try” in 2014. Since then, she has soared to new heights, winning first number one single on the world music charts. Billboard Global 200 with “Espresso”.
Her live reaction video was filmed on a tour bus, as Carpenter hit the road to take her Short n’ Sweet tour across the country. The tour received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with her vocals and stage production praised by both fans and colleagues.
During a recent stop in Seattle, Washington, Carpenter took some time to speak about Donald Trump’s re-election, sharing on stage: “I feel so sorry for our country and all of its women.” ladies here. I love you so much. I really love you.” Hope you enjoy the rest of your night because you totally deserve it.”
Carpenter was noted by the voter registration organization HeadCount as having registered and attracted the most voters of any artist. The 25-year-old was able to attract 35,814 voter registrations and persuade another 263,087 voters to take actions other than registering, HeadCount.org said.
