Sabrina Carpenter seemingly deleted her background music after lip-syncing accusations

Sabrina Carpenter is letting her voice take center stage on her Short n’ Sweet Tour.

The “Taste” singer performed “Please Please Please” at a recent stop on her tour, and many on TikTok were quick to point out that she removed the song’s backing track. .

“She deleted the background music. Welcome everyone,” the text on the video of Carpenter singing said.

Others in the post’s comments section shared that Carpenter should have continued her support despite the backlash she received.

“There’s nothing wrong with the reverse track 😭 I’m afraid you all are clueless about audio,” one person said.

“The following song is so she can get along with herself.. I personally love it. You guys are too much lol,” another added.

“This is sad because artists often use backtrack for support when they need to breathe or rest for a bit, if they sound tired or breathless people hate it, if they use support they hate it. Rate that too,” another said.

Earlier this month, Carpenter clapped back at critics who claimed she lip-synced during her performances, where they specifically pointed to her song “Please Please” as an example of Carpenter’s doing so.

“Hate to say it’s 30% lip syncing [sic] 30% musical accompaniment, 40% singing,” this person posted with the video.

However, Carpenter saw the video and clapped back at the person.

“I sing live at every show 100%. Do you want to talk to my sound engineer?” she replied.

“I’ll tell them to lower the background music because it’s too high,” the original poster then shot back.

Carpenter has not yet officially confirmed the reason why she removed the backing track for “Please Please”.

The Short n’ Sweet tour began last month and is expected to last until 2025, where she will wrap up the tour in March with a tour stop in Milan, Italy.

It comes on the heels of her highly successful album, Short and sweetcreated three top 10 hits Billboard Hot100 chart. “Taste” debuted and peaked at #2, “Please” peaked at #1 and “Espresso” has so far peaked at #3.
