early life
Sakshi Shivanand was born on 15 April 1977 in Maharashtra, India. She is of Telugu and Marathi descent. Her father Suresh Shivanand is a former actor who has acted in many Bollywood films.
He also runs a theatre company called Shivanand Natya Graha, which performs plays across India. Her mother, Rama Devi, is also an actress and has acted in many of her father’s productions. Sakshi Shivanand grew up watching her parents perform and dreamed of becoming an actress.
Sakshi Shivanand has a younger sister Ohanna Shivanand who is a television actress. She got her first big break when she played a role in an Indian soap opera. Her performance in the show brought her to the attention of Bollywood director Anubhav Sinha who offered her to act opposite Priyanshu Chatterjee, Farida Jalal and Om Puri.

Sakshi Shivanand made her Bollywood debut in 1996. Her other release was in Aditya Pancholi starrer Zanjeer. Later, she rose to fame in Tollywood in a short time.
She made her Telugu debut in the Chiranjeevi starrer film Master. Later, she acted in Telugu films such as Seetharamaraju with Nagarjuna, Vamsoddharakudu with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Simharasi with Rajasekhar, Yuvaraju with Mahesh Babu, Rajahamsa with Abbas, Yamajathakudu and Collector Garu with Mohan Babu.
