Sam Hunt signed a record deal with MCA Nashville Records in January and released his debut EP on the label, titled “X2C,” in August 2014. It sold 8,000 copies in its first week, debuting at number five on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 36 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Sam Hunt’s debut album was also released in 2014 and was titled Montevallo.
