From 1989 to 1994, he worked for reputable companies such as Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), Engen Refinery, National Sorghum Breweries (NSB) and South African Breweries (SAB).

In 1998, he was recognised for his exceptional leadership skills while leading SARHWU Investment Holdings and was awarded The Business Map Dealmaker of the Year. In 2000, he represented South Africa in the World Young Business Achievers finals and was honoured with the Outstanding Business Strategy Award.

The guest list included notable figures such as billionaire Patrice Motsepe, the boss of CAF. This was Sandile’s second marriage, having previously been married to businesswoman Zodwa Zungu for 25 years.

Sadly, Zodwa passed away in 2016 after a long battle with cancer. The couple had four children: Lwazi, Mfundo, Sinenjabulo and Vuyo. In 2023, Sandile and Nozipho welcomed their first child, adding to their growing family.
