Saravanan Arul was born on 10 July 1970 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

He was naturally introduced to a Tamil family in Salem, he was the second of five children. His father was a police officer and his mother was a nurse.

His father’s name is Saravana Selvarathinam, his mother’s name is unknown, his uncles’ names are Yoga Rathinam, Raja Rathinam, and his grandfather’s name is Saravanan Nadar.
