SB19’s A’TIN Fandom Wins Back-to-Back Billboard Fan Army; Beats Out Rihanna’s Navy, Swifties, and More

SB19 and Filipino-born global pop group A’TIN remain undefeated in the Billboard Fan Army showdown.

The 2024 edition of Billboard’s Fan Army competition ended with plenty of excitement on Thursday as SB19’s A’TIN and Rihanna’s Navy battled it out in the finals. Voting officially ended at noon ET, with SB19’s fans emerging victorious, securing back-to-back wins for the group.

The final vote count showed SB19 won by a large margin of 56.3% to Rihanna’s 43.7% when all the votes for and against were counted.

Throughout the 2024 BBFA, SB19 faced off against some strong contenders. In the semi-finals, the group faced off against Taylor Swift and the Swifties but managed to beat the latter by winning 58% of the votes for the round.

Other acts SB19 and A’TIN defeated in previous rounds included SZA, Karol G, Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa. Meanwhile, Rihanna advanced to the finals after defeating Noah Kahan, Ice Spice, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams and Hozier.

“The 2024 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off is officially over and we have a winner. For the second year in a row, SB19 is the winner — overwhelmingly — thanks to the tireless efforts of the A’TIN fan army. The Filipino boy band previously won the 2023 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off. Congratulations to them for all their hard work,” Billboard stated when announcing the winner shortly after voting closed.

According to the music and entertainment magazine, SB19’s consecutive wins are on par with Super Junior’s K-pop group ELF, who have won the annual competition twice. On the other hand, another K-pop fandom, T-ARA’s Queens, still holds the record for the most BBFA wins after winning the Fan Army competition three times.

Last year, SB19’s A’TIN competed against SEVENTEEN’s CARAT in the finals of BBFA 2023 and won after gaining 51.1% of the final votes.

SB19 consists of Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken and Justin. The pop group debuted in 2018 and has since made waves in the global music scene with hit songs like “Gento”, “Mapa”, “Bazinga”, “I Want You” and many more.
