Scott Paul Carson, born in England on September 3, 1985, is an English professional football player and goalkeeper. He currently plays for Premier League club Manchester City. Carson began his football journey in the Leeds United academy in 2002 and made his first-team debut in February 2004 against Manchester United.
In January 2005, he moved to Liverpool for a transfer fee of £750,000 and was called up to the England national team later that year. Carson contributed to Liverpool’s success, making nine appearances, including the Champions League quarter-final victory over Juventus in April 2005. He had successive loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa to gain experience.
In 2008, Carson returned to Liverpool from Aston Villa and joined West Bromwich Albion for £3.25 million in July. In 2011, he moved to Bursaspor in Turkey and returned to England with Wigan Athletic two years later.
