Selena Gomez and David Henrie trended online thanks to their reunion at the premiere of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.”
On October 29, various clips on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) were shared, showing Gomez stunning everyone in a red dress during the premiere.
The highlight, however, was her reunion with Henrie, her former co-star on Disney Channel’s Emmy-winning teen fantasy sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
Gomez is said to have hugged Henrie before posing for the cameras.
The moment made netizens’ hearts skip a beat as they saw two of their favorite childhood characters reunite.
One netizen commented, “They had great chemistry on the show and it’s so nostalgic to remember those fun times!”
Gomez and Henrie have been around since 2007, when they played siblings Alex and Justin Russo, respectively, on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” The two also have a younger brother named Max Russo, played by Jake T. Austin.
A spin-off titled “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” was greenlit following the success of “Wizards of Waverly Place”. The sequel now focuses on a young witch named Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown), who hones her magical skills under the tutelage of Henrie’s character Justin.
The official trailer was released previously on September 25 and according to the clip, Gomez also made a guest appearance as Alex Russo.
