Early life and education
Sergej Trifunović was born on September 2, 1972 in Mostar, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, then part of SFR Yugoslavia. He is the son of Tomislav, an actor, and Slobodanka, a lawyer. His younger brother, Branislav Trifunović, is also a famous actor.
Trifunović studied at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade, entering in 1990 and graduating in 1994. He is ethnically Serbian, although his religious beliefs are unknown.
