Shawn Peter Raul Mendes (born August 8, 1998) is an award-winning Canadian singer and talented songwriter.

early life
Shawn Peter Raul Mendes was born and raised in Pickering, Ontario, Canada.
His father, Karen Mendes (née Rayment), was a real estate agent, and his mother, Manuel Mendes, was a businessman who sold bar and restaurant supplies in Toronto.
The son of a Portuguese father from the Algarve, Portugal, and a British mother, he also has a younger sister named Alia Mendes, and he grew up in a religious family.
