Shawn Mendes is back in full force with new music and an exciting VMAs performance: Watch

Shawn Mendes has made a successful return to music after taking a two-year hiatus from world touring to focus on his health.

The Canadian singer-songwriter set a new direction for his musical journey with the release of the songs “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough” last month and debuted his most recent track, “Nobody Knows,” at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

On September 9, Mendes teased his millions of fans anticipating his performance, saying, “I’m absolutely HAPPY to be performing this song live,” along with the 26-year-old’s caption.

He also mentioned his producers, “I’ll be sharing the stage with my brothers @mikesabath and @eddiebenjamin for the first time. I’m so excited.”

Mendes confirmed that his latest album, “Shawn”, will be released on October 18, his birthday.

In an emotional IG post announcing the album, the “Treat You Better” hitmaker confessed, “2 years ago, I felt like I had no idea who I was. A year ago, I couldn’t walk into the studio without having a complete panic attack. So to be here right now with 12 beautifully finished songs is truly a gift.”

According to a press release, the upcoming album is Mendes’ “most musically intimate and lyrically honest work to date.”
