early life
Simi was born into a Yoruba family to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oladele Ogunleye on April 19, 2021. She comes from a Christian family and her name is Simisola Bolatito.

She was born and raised in Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos. She lived in her parents’ apartment in her early years, but when her parents separated she moved in with her mother. She was only nine years old at the time.
Despite having no father, Simi’s mother worked hard to ensure that she did not lack for any good things and sent her to the best private schools for education.
While growing up, Simi could not hide her musical talent because she had a strong voice that showed up whenever she sang popular songs. So she joined the choir at an early age and focused on creating gospel music.
As a result, her debut studio album, Ogaju, was a gospel-themed effort, but she has since changed her perspective and decided to move towards mainstream music as she feels it will help her connect with a wider audience.

After her record contract with X3M expired in 2019, Simi chose not to renew it and chose to start her own record label, Studio Brat. In 2020, she released the famous song “Duduke”, which became a hot topic in the industry. The song was released to celebrate the birth of her daughter and was one of the most played songs of the year.
