Early life
Popular TV personality Skhumba Hlophe comes from humble origins.
Skhumba Hlophe, also known as Big Banger, grew up in the Tembisa neighbourhood of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Born on December 31 and raised by his grandmother, Leria Hlophe, the Johannesburg-based comedian always wanted to be a lawyer.
His dream of wearing a black cloak and white wig ended sooner than he expected.
The incident came after he claimed he wasn’t “the smartest kid on the street”, although this wasn’t the only reason.
College costs a lot of money, and his mother, a dry cleaner, couldn’t afford to pay his college tuition.
As a result, Skhumba Hlophe had to work as an office worker to pursue his goal of going to college. He worked hard for thirteen years to earn enough money to pay for his university education.
