Slipknot’s Sid Wilson suffers serious burns in farmhouse fire

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson has been hospitalised with serious burns following a fire at his home.

On Friday, the 47-year-old DJ and keyboardist revealed he suffered second-degree burns to his face and arms in the incident, which happened while he was tending the farm he shares with girlfriend Kelly Osbourne.

According to Wilson, he was building a fire when the fire suddenly broke out.

“Everyone out there, be very careful when playing with fire,” Wilson shared in an Instagram clip after his experience.

In an update shared with fans, the rock icon said he is recovering in hospital while nurses treat his injuries.

Proudly displaying his burns, Wilson revealed a horrifying array of injuries – from blisters to red, swollen skin covering his arms, cheeks and even lips.

Wilson chuckled as he recalled the fire even burning off his mustache, prompting him to humorously share his decision to shave it off before going to the hospital.

In a follow-up post, Wilson uploaded another video filmed during an Instagram Live stream, in which he joked with a follower about getting a free eyebrow trim, getting authentic “sideburns,” and getting his lips “so gross” that they looked like “cheap Botox.”

That same day, Osbourne posted a video clip on Instagram Story detailing the situation that led to Wilson’s injury.

“He literally set himself on fire and blew everything up,” said Osbourne, who sat next to his lover’s hospital bed with his son on his lap.

In another video, the “Papa Don’t Preach” singer can be seen shaking his head in disbelief, his hand on his forehead, along with the words “I have no words left to say.”

Panning the camera, Osbourne captured her toddler busy playing with toys. A small smile spread across her face as she listened to her son Sidney’s babbling and attempts at singing.

The camera then pans to Wilson, who is lying on a hospital bed, staring intently at his phone screen.

Wilson also showed footage of medical staff busy tending to him, carefully assessing and treating his injuries.

The “Psychosocial” artist has assured Slipknot fans that he is on track for a full recovery before the heavy metal band resumes touring in September.

“I’m going to be fine, and I don’t care what happens, I’ll see you guys on tour,” Wilson said.

Wilson also reassured fans that he was fine, albeit a little hungry, and discussed the possibility of having to give up his long hair.

He confidently asserts that he is being well cared for and feels fine now, although he is uncertain about how he will feel in the future.
