Sofyan Amrabat, a professional football prodigy, was born on August 21, 1996, in the picturesque town of Huizen in the Netherlands. Born to Moroccan parents, his father’s name is Mohammed Amrabat, while unfortunately, his mother’s name remains unknown.

Growing up with his older brother, Nordin Amrabat, Sofyan Amrabat’s upbringing was certainly filled with close sibling friendship and shared experiences.

Career

Sofyan Amrabat’s football journey began in the Utrecht youth team in 2007, after his early days at HSV De Zuidvogels. After years of hard work, he made his senior debut for Utrecht on 2 November 2014.

In 2017, he joined Feyenoord, and his four-year contract came with a transfer fee of €4 million paid to Utrecht. In 2018, Sofyan Amrabat moved to Club Brugge, and Feyenoord received 2.5 million euros. He was loaned to Hellas Verona in 2019.

In January 2020, Hellas Verona exercised their option to buy Sofyan Amrabat from Club Brugge for €3.5 million but quickly sold him to Fiorentina for €20 million, with the possibility of a further €1.5 million in add-ons.

Despite moving to Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat remained on loan at Hellas Verona until the end of the 2019–20 season. His performances earned him the Hellas Verona Player of the Season award in July 2020.

On 26 September 2020, Sofyan Amrabat made his debut for Fiorentina in a 4–3 win over Inter Milan. He continued to impress by playing the entirety of Fiorentina’s 1–2 defeat to West Ham United in the 2023 UEFA Europa League Final.
