Britney Spears’ journey in the entertainment industry will soon be coming to the big screen and fans are already making predictions about who will play the pop superstar.
After securing the rights to the autobiography “The Woman In Me,” Universal Pictures has won over celebrities like Margot Robbie and Shonda Rhimes, who have reportedly expressed interest in the book.
In addition to Spears’ account, trade news outlet Ankler reported that Universal has acquired the rights to her entire music library for the biopic in an eight-figure deal, ensuring that her iconic pop songs will be part of the soundtrack.
After news of a biopic in the works hit the headlines, several names immediately popped up on social media as potential candidates to play Britney, a music icon with more than 150 million records sold worldwide and a tumultuous personal life that has garnered significant attention since her debut.
Although no official casting announcement has been made, fans have wasted no time in jumping into speculation, eagerly trying to predict the actress chosen to play Spears.
Former Disney star turned singer Sabrina Carpenter quickly emerged as the popular choice.

“Euphoria” and “Madame Web” actress Sydney Sweeney may not have the musical talent of some of her peers, but fans can’t help but notice the striking resemblance between her and Spears and think she could show off her impressive acting skills in the more intense scenes of “The Woman in Me.”

Former Disney star Bella Thorne also caught the attention of fans who considered her a potential candidate for the role of the “Baby One More Time” singer not only because of her sometimes dyed blonde look but also because of her authentic social media presence that’s identical to Spears’.

Elle Fanning was another top pick after her spectacular transformation into Spears for Halloween 2022, wearing a green bra, shorts, cape, and headset microphone, with a prop snake elegantly wrapped around her neck. The outfit was a tribute to Spears’ iconic appearance at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performing “I’m A Slave 4 U.”

Another popular suggestion, “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, stands out from this lineup for a special reason — she once said her dream role would be to portray Spears in a biopic.

Meanwhile, an industry insider revealed to The Sun that it would be a huge challenge to bring every aspect of Spears’ life into one film.
“But she was made clear that it would not be a rosy story, and that it would show all the highs and lows of her career,” the unnamed source said.
“She would have been upset to see that but she is involved in every aspect of the film and is part of the team that decides who gets to continue bringing her story to the big screen,” the insider added.
With sales exceeding 2.5 million copies in the United States, “The Woman In Me” achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the top spot on The New York Times bestseller list.
