early life
Sphamandla Dhludhlu was born in Thokoza, an eastern suburb of Johannesburg, on 5 January 1992. He grew up in KwaZulu-Natal and returned east when he was ten.
According to Sphamandla Dhludhlu, he said: “He always wanted to be on TV since he was a child. His mother would ask him, what do you want to be, a host, an actor or a news anchor? ” He went on to say: “For me, it doesn’t matter what I become, as long as I can be on the TV screen,” said Sphamandla Dhludhlu.
Sphamandla Dhludhlu was very determined and keen to appear on television but he had no idea about how the industry worked.
His brother worked in community theatre and he always suggested Sphamandla Dhludhlu to rehearse with him. He later enrolled in a drama school.

“I’ve grown up since then, and I had no idea back then what the consequences of hurting someone were. Hurting someone is never pleasant and it almost always comes back to hurt you.”
