She rose to fame playing the role of Mazaza in the popular South African television series Uzalo.
Another television series that brought her fame was her role as Kentucky in the television show Isibaya.

Early life
Sphelele Mzimela was born on September 29 in Empangeni, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.
She was raised by her grandmother in the town of Enyoni. Her parents are Thembelihle Nzuza and Zenzele Mzimela. Her mother, Zenzele Mzimela is a successful accountant. Sphelele has two younger sisters, Xabiso Mzimela and Snothile Mzimela.
She has always loved anything entertainment related and from a young age, she knew that she wanted to be on television. She was a big fan of the movie Yesterday, starring Leleti Khumalo, and her passion for acting and entertainment was ignited and she began pursuing it.
Education
Sphelele Mzimela completed her primary and secondary education in Kwazulu-Natal.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in television production from the renowned AFDA Academy (South African School of Acting and Live Performance).
She then received a National Diploma in Drama from the Durban University of Technology.
Career
Sphelele Mzimela made her entrance into the entertainment industry in 2015 after she was cast as Kentucky in the television show Isibaya.
She recently played the role of Mazaza in the movie Uzalo but was replaced because she was pregnant.
She is currently taking a break from acting to care for her newborn child but is looking forward to making an impressive comeback in the near future.

She revealed to Move Magazine that she had difficulty conceiving and refused to go to the doctor because she did not want to endure any negative news.
She surprised her mother by buying her first car in 2018 after three years of pursuing acting. She has a passion for girls and is currently planning to start an NGO to support and provide them with necessary life skills.
