Splatoon 3 releases update 5.0.1

Splatoon 3 has a new update called 5.0.1. This update is to make the game better serve players. It solves some problems with how players move and play together. For example, it can climb walls more easily and stay on the ground correctly. Additionally, if you purchased the first part of the game’s extra content, you’ll see a special banner from Off the Hook in the game lobby.

The exciting news is that there will be even more additional content coming in Spring 2024! It’s called Side Order and is the second part of the DLC. In this new installment, you’ll play a brand new single-player adventure in a place called “The Spire of Order,” which sounds pretty cool.

Splatoon 3 gameplay

In Splatoon 3, like earlier games in the series, it’s a third-person shooter. You can choose whether your character is an Inkling or an Octoling, and they both use colored ink as bullets. The weapons in the game are very unique – they look like everyday objects. For example, there are large paint rollers called rollers that are great for covering large amounts of ground with ink, but work best up close.

Submachine guns, on the other hand, are like sniper rifles, great for shooting enemies from a distance, but not very good at shooting on the ground. Splatoon 3 keeps things more interesting by adding new primary, secondary, and special weapons. You can choose a primary weapon, secondary weapons come with the primary weapon and cost more ink, and special weapons are tied to a specific primary weapon and require you to put a bit of ink on the ground to use them.

What’s cool is that Inklings and Octolings can transform into squid or octopuses, which is called “swimming form.” In this form, you can climb walls covered in ink and swim in the ink faster than you can walk in your regular form. To keep your weapons functioning, you need ink, and submerging it in swimming form refills it faster than in human form. Don’t worry, all the classic weapons from previous Splatoon games are back in Splatoon 3.
