Steve McMichael’s career

McMichael began his football career as a defensive end for the Texas Longhorns. He was named an All-American and was named Defensive MVP in his senior season. In 2010, he was honored with an induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. In 1980, Steve was drafted by the New England Patriots but passed over. He then joined the Chicago Bears as a free agent in 1981 and became one of their first defensive players, helping them win the 1985 Super Bowl.

Steve had a stellar 101-game streak until his playing time dwindled in 1990. He excelled on the field, leading the Bears with 11.5 sacks in 1988 and recording 108 tackles in 1989. McMichael was determined to prove his worth by being named to the NFC Pro Bowl teams in both 1986 and 1987. He was even more famous for a game-changing play against the New York Jets in 1991, when he forced a fumble and recovered the ball at the opponent’s own yard line. Bears coach Mike Ditka considered McMichael to be his most difficult player to coach.

McMichael began his professional wrestling career by assisting Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI and guest commentating on “Monday Night Raw”. He was then hired by WCW in 1995 and debuted as a color commentator on “WCW Monday Nitro”. Ric Flair flirted with McMichael’s wife, Debra, during a wrestling event. In response, McMichael challenged Flair to a match. During the match, chaos ensued as valets chased after both wrestlers’ wives.

Jarrett was kicked out of the Horsemen, causing Debra to leave McMichael for Jarrett. However, Steve sought revenge and defeated Jarrett for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. In response, Debra hired Goldberg to target McMichael, who became one of Goldberg’s first victims. Although he initially lost his Super Bowl ring to Goldberg, McMichael later regained it by attacking Goldberg with a pipe.

Steve had a brief stint in professional wrestling. He had a falling out with the nWo in WCW before making his final appearance on “Nitro” in 1999. McMichael later returned to wrestling as a referee for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view event. His slow pace during a three-count in a Monster’s Ball Match was notable. Despite his football accomplishments, McMichael was named Worst TV Host by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 1996. Must Read Sergio Agüero Net Worth.
